Angels and Airwaves

The group of friends and like-minded musicians who make up AVA includes frontman/guitarist Tom DeLonge (from blink-182); guitarist David Kennedy (from Hazen Street and Box Car Racer); and bassist/keyboardist Matt Wachter (from 30 Seconds to Mars), who joined in 2007. But the band's goal from the beginning was to create an artistic spirit that departed significantly in style and scope from any of the musicians' previous efforts. Their resulting vision is an unparalleled multi-sensory experience that engages both imagery and sound.

Since its formation in 2005, Angels & Airwaves (AVA) has strived to be more than just a rock band. AVA has embraced multimedia technology to become an art project that encompasses a wide vision of human themes, all imprinted with a unique musical soundtrack. The innovative experience that is AVA supports an independent ethos that unites several different artistic mediums, including not only self-released songs and albums but videos, films, live events and a novel approach to fan-artist interaction.
